Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary School is located at 618 N. College Street in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  There are approximately 640 students in grades 1, and 2 on the campus.  Mrs. Leah Cotter is the NWH Principal.  Mrs. Rita Persons is the Assistant Principal. There are 29 classrooms at NWH.  Additionally, 15 certified teachers have special programs such as music, library, Title I, PE, resource, etc.  There are 8 paraprofessional aides at the campus.

Our mission at Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary School is that we show our commitment to excellence in education by maintaining a positive, creative, nurturing, and safe environment for students in the 1st and 2nd grade.

Our school motto, “Be The Best You Can Be,” reflects a partnership of staff, students, parents, and community joined together to achieve a successful educational experience for all children. We will provide the educational opportunities necessary to prepare our students for life in the 21st Century.
