Mountain Home Kindergarten

Library Media Center

Welcome to the Kindergarten Library!

We have an exciting library, filled with lots of books to read, cassettes/cds to listen to, computers to learn on and many other things to do.  Our classes come to the Library once a week.   During the first semester, they learn many things about books, including how to take care of them.   Every week, they have a book or two read to them.   We hope to show them a variety of good books to read and we hope they learn about being responsible borrowers.

During the second semester of Kindergarten, each student may check out a book.   The book can go home and be “read” to family members.   When their class comes back to the library the following week, the students will return their books and check out another book.

As they learn to read, they will find books that are at their reading level.   They will check out many that are hard to read.   These books can still be fun, as they can read the pictures or have family members read to them or help them read.  Reading opens doors to many exciting adventures.   We’re glad we can share some of these with our Kindergartners.
