Pre-Advanced and/or Advanced Placement Classes

Students in grades 8-12 may sign up for advanced placement courses.  These courses prepare students for college level instruction or may include college credit for completion.  Students are provided an academically rigorous curriculum which is differentiated in content, process, and product.  The teachers are certified in Advanced Learning Instruction. 

The Advanced Placement Program is synonymous with educational excellence. It is a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary school and colleges and universities. It exposes high school students to college-level material through involvement in an AP course and gives them the opportunity to show that they have mastered it my by taking an AP exam. Almost all the nation's colleges and universities will grant credit, advanced placement or both to students based on the exam scores.

Approximately 70% of MHHS students enrolled in AP courses since 1990 have earned some kind of advanced placement or college credit. Currently, we have 5 AP courses at MHHS: English Literature and Composition, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Science. We hope to add more.
