Steve and Paul

Bus Mechanics

Steve Gunter and Paul Bellnap have over 50 years total mechanic experience.  The two mechanics maintain and service 56 buses as well as all the maintenance fleet and all lawn tractors for the district. They keep all of our equipment running and still keep a smile on their faces!

The Transportation fleet consists of:

Special Needs Buses - 5

       Activity Buses – 5

       Regular Route Buses – 47

  • Our buses run approximately 2,400 miles around Mountain Home and in Baxter County daily.  The number of students transported daily varies between 2,200 and 2,300 or approximately 56% of the student enrollment.
  • All regular route buses are equipped with two-way radios and digital cameras
  • In inclement weather buses travel SNOW ROUTES.  These are the routes that do not leave the main highways.  Parents are informed at the beginning of the school year the roads that will be traveled on snow days.  We try to notify the radio stations in the area by 6:00 a.m. on snow days so parents are aware of the locations the students will be picked up in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon. You can also check the Mountain Home School District website under District Information and News or at the top of this page.
